Fishing in Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas transformed itself from a sleepy fishing village into one of the most exciting billfishing destinations in the world by virtue of its incredible striped marlin fishery. Cabo San Lucas billfishing consists of pulling armed lures and pitching live baits to fish spotted tailing on the surface. Anglers use the lures to

tease the billfish close to the boat so they can pitch a live bait. This session is a good option for those who want to learn a little about handling, rigging and fishing with live baits. We fish on the Picante Fleet, one of the premier charter operations in Cabo San Lucas. We fish these waters in the finest fleet of Cabo yachts, which are always upgraded with the latest high-performance models. Our nightly seminars on wiring and boat handling are not to be missed.

Trip Information

At the tip of Mexico’s 1,000-mile-long Baja California peninsula, Cabo San Lucas is one of those destinations with the perfect combination of great billfishing and exotic and spectacular scenery. It’s a longtime favorite for anglers out to land the big one!
Cabo San Lucas is famous for its casual atmosphere, exciting nightlife, great beaches, and lots of shopping and restaurants. Cabo San Lucas is also known for its stone arch, El Arco, a magnificent natural rock formation at Land’s End.

Perched on a hill, the Finisterra Hotel overlooks the town of Cabo San Lucas. The location of the hotel offers incredible views complemented by a feeling of seclusion but also provides easy access to the center of town.

The average year-round temperature in Cabo San Lucas is 78 degrees, with 300 days of sun each year. In the summer, the dry desert heat prevails, but trade winds keep the evening temperatures comfortable.

After the day’s fishing and the nightly seminar, Cabo has a lively late-night scene. With the incredible array of activities available onshore, this session is probably the best option for those who want to bring along a non-fishing guest. Non-fishing guests can enjoy sailing, whale watching, shopping, hiking or just lazing at the beach. This class accommodates 16 students and fills up fast, so sign up early!
